By the Sea

By the sea by the sea,
I come for thee
Not by the ocean...it's just too big
But by the sea
I feel its shores

I work the sails, I fight the lines
Climb the mast
I trust their strength

By the sea and the wind
I'm pulled so far,
I look to stars to find my way
Celestial gods
They just laugh
Their stories have been told

I search for clouds
I cheer the storm
I loath the calm
I take a dive

Fish swim by, and corral blue
I search the reef
Inlets dark

By the sea by the sea
Narcissus' soul
I search for Self, more than beauty

On my ship the waves they crash
I want their cold to slam my chest
That I may wake
That I may rest
By the Sea
