An issue near and dear to me.
(Present)

"I'll make you feel better,"

He said to her.

Painful memories,

Haunts her every single day,

She let herself cry,

All she ever wanted was a hero to save her from this life.

(Past)

A large and yet firm body looms,

Over a small fragile body.

Drops of sweat from both body's soak the dark,

Dusty, filthy, cold air.

She wants it to stop,

He wants to keep going.

She makes a fuss,

He won't tolerate it!

She begs for mercy,

A fist pounds into her back.

She lets out the painful howl,

Another blow hits her back.

She never wanted this,

Blow after blow, kick after kick.

She learns not to scream in pain,

The pain that she feels becomes numb.

Each day passed, Comes with more tears,

She hides her smile from the world.

Black and blue is the color of her skin,

People stare and wonder "what happened to her?"

Only he knew,

He won't tell.

Nor will she,

She wants a hero.

She wants the pain to stop.

Anothrer day comes,

He pounds into her.

She tries not to fuss,

He tells her to hush,

She wants to become dust.

Her body's weak and bruised,

She never wanted this life.

She tries to tell her mom,

That she's been abused,

That's she's been raped.

Her mom shook her head,

And stuck her nose up and called her a slut.

She wants a hero,

But people call her zero.

The pain that she hides,

Becomes her hatred for the world.

All she ever wanted in life,

Was to be loved.
