Three Minute Read
Two days Out

“Harry? Can you take a look at this screen?”

“Sure, what’s up?”

“I was doing my weekly check and this screen is weird. This is not our usual code and I can’t seem to straighten it out. Have you ever seen this before?”

“It doesn’t look familiar, what’s this screen for?”

“Long term storage. I check it weekly to make sure the temperature is holding and the air quality. I’ve never seen this before.”

“Maybe the screen is broken. Do we need to go check it in person?”

“I wouldn’t think so. We won’t be opening that section until we’re back on earth and we’re only two days out. Even if the temp goes off, or the air, there’s nothing in there that will be harmed. It’s just storage, unused machines, furniture, even clothes we didn’t need again on this trip, you know storage. I’ve just never seen this code, or whatever it is. “

“Is this computer separate from the rest? Can we just let it go?”

“Definitely. Every section is on its own system for security reasons. If this system is corrupted it won’t affect any others. It just bugs me. Should I switch it off?”

“No, keep an eye on it. Take screen shots so we can document it correctly, cover our butts so nobody can say we ignored it.”

“Got it.”

The Vlorps looked at the computer screen, giggling. They had snuck on board on Vlooron looking for food. So far they had eaten most of the furniture, all the clothes and now were happily munching on the machines stuffed here and there.

“Try again!” Zeenon said, burping.

“I don’t know, Raz,” Zeenon said, knocking on the controls again, “I’m beginning to think this isn’t a television after all.”
