A ghazal in English, written after a long time. (I write Hindi ghazals daily.)
My pain, don’t think it is light: a ghazal

My pain, don’t think it is light.
My days will never be bright.

After having caused me hurt,
Don’t you feel a bit contrite?

Just because you don’t want so,
Why can’t I enforce my right?

Everyone is against me;
I can now no longer fight.

When I speak no one listens
Hence, Khalish, I’ll memoirs write.

• “Khalish” is my pen name that I use, as per tradition, in ghazals.
