Where's a good builder when you need one?
Strong and Stable

Foundations strong and stable
To raise the house anew
Contractors to the table
So many, yet so few
With some quotes that don't matter
Well most to be precise
Attention, bored and shattered
Some focus would be nice,
or maybe we could make a hut
With mud that's flung around
Gerrymandered architecture, shut
Two steps up and three steps down
Down into a basement
Where the poorer quarters dwell
Archaic forms of containment
So divisions can be quelled
As fat cats pad round upstairs
To keep their tenants scared
Ignore required repairs
and tenants' concerns, aired
Aired, discussed, discarded
Discordant to their needs
With selfish wants regarded
They plant transparent seeds
With skeletons in attics
Lies, they tumble down
Lost within the static,
of party broadcast sounds
That ring through bricks and mortar
Tenants, middle, right and left
leaving services cut shorter
And a first aid box bereft
Tabling success in ranks
whilst restricting funds, amounts
Hunting foxes, raiding food banks
With interest in accounts
Accounts that get no better
with all the money saved
Somehow, a bigger debtor
despite the things we've waived
Yet still we need a builder
with seven weeks to choose
Options vast... yet few, bewilder
with everything to lose
Foundations strong and stable
To raise the house anew
Lets blame the ones less able
For the shit, the fit ones do
