A simple piece of poetry I've been working on, on and off.
The most grim a tale a sailor could tell is that of a dragon's rage,
Survivors are few and far between though it's happened for many an age,
'Tis said those who live are lucky, and those who die may not be, but it's all the same to me,
Since those who die are not cursed with its memory.
According to the sailor's story,
Avoid the faithless quarry known as the sunken shipyard,
Though if you follow the story that makes this hard,
Since curiosity will linger until you reach the yard,
And come face to face with the sailor's beast with its fangs barred.
So choose your path and take it slow,
Otherwise you may never know,
If the stories are true or just a ruse,
But be careful or either way you'll surely lose,
If the beast arrives you know they're right,
But can you handle seeing such a sight,
As a massive drake on the waves,
Of a creature so strong yet no one it saves,
Is it wise to seek a beast,
In which could make you a feast,
Is it smart to search for signs,
Of the greatest stowaway whom is not benign,
To investigate a story passed with fear,
Yet be unprepared to shed your own tear,
Maybe you aren't normal in that way,
Maybe you will find a reason to stay,
The beast is feared by all,
Yet you may not be one to fall,
One who seeks to see,
The truth to something not thought to be,
Maybe you will succeed where others have fallen,
Maybe you will be the one who finds the truth society's stollen,
If you are I have a final hint,
Take it as you will but you need a mint...
