Coming to greet you
By Lisa Noe*Cat*

A tear is still welled in my eye
I guess it will stay until I die.

He came and got you way too soon
He carried you home, which meant my doom.

We had a special relationship
A bond so strong it would not slip.

You were my father and I your girl
I loved you more than all of the world.

Your sparkling blue eyes I shall never see again
You were once my very best friend.

Mama sure misses you, she still cries
She’s become strong, takes care of us guys.

She and I have gotten to be
The best of friends you’d be proud of me.

I stay right by her, I now know
How fragile life is and how quick it can go.

When I pray I talk to God about you
I know you're in Heaven and I’ll be there in a few.

Years pass quickly, thirty have passed
I’m ready to greet you, it’s time at last.
