So many years have come and gone
Yet I still can not find it in anyone
I can't remember when it began
When I first believed it was real

Maybe it was the stories I heard
As a little boy in the classroom
So filled with wonder at the joy
Found by hearts after all the pain

So I keep waiting
For that last first kiss

So I keep looking
For it in someone's eyes

Please be real
Please find me

I'll keep searching

Maybe I needed and hoped it was real
Because it sure wasn't where I lived
And just like the hearts in the stories
One day my broken pieces would mend

Sometimes I think I might have seen it
But always between two other hearts
It still fills me with a happy wonder
And this sadness that won't let go

So I keep waiting
For that last first kiss

For it in someone's eyes
