Unrequited
Pole Position

She entered dressed for corporate war.

With a voice which made my essence soar.

Intimate with borrowed speech

And such a luxury to teach.

Bespectacled, a glimpse of leg.

A foreign payroll powder keg.

Eyes as green as garden peas

Gluten issues, dodgy knees.

We shared a slightly tipsy dance

But I never really stood a chance.

Her anger draws the sweetest noise,

Her shoulders proud with perfect poise.

True to form a hopeless twat,

I bought the girl a bobble hat.

And the romance hit a concrete wall

When I bought a T Shirt far too small.

Not the stylings she deserves

But worth it just to see those curves.

With a goddess at my fingertips

I felt I’d kissed electric lips.

I miss her madly, truth be told

Her gifts cannot be undersold.

At night I rest my pudding head

And wonder what she's like in bed.
