Just a little something:
fresh-picked daffodils and tulips
in a mason jar
centered on a window sill.

Just a little something:
gauzy white curtains
billowing when the window's open
and a Spring breeze wafts.

Just a little something:
wind chime counterpoint
to bird song harmonies:
even the violets know the dance.


Just a little something:
how sun-warmed sidewalks
warm more than bare feet--
coldest soul feels the heat.


Just a little something:
first true days of Spring
when the world is edged
in a green tinge.


Just a little something
but it gives my day
a high-spirited kick
and makes my heart soar.
