April was a difficult month for me. I struggled with my depression and anxiety which were related to financial, physical, and emotional stresses.
I celebrated my 62nd birthday this year which means I am eligible for early Social Security retirement. I, also, took a hiatus from writing. I just couldn’t get through the fog of my depression. I was able to get out and play bingo at the Senior Center and bunco at a friend’s house, but writing was a struggle.
The best thing that happened this month was getting a new cat for the household. He is nearly two years old, a rescue cat, and is almost pure black. He is a very laid-back fellow which is good.
The worst thing to happen in April is related to our vehicles. My partner and I own three. Two of them went down; brakes and tie rods on the Subaru and a hole in the gas tank on the Chevy van. We feel blessed that neither repair is terribly expensive and that neither break down caused an accident or worse.
