I had completely forgotten to put my pants on.
I wish I could turn back time and get back to the good old days of pretending, playing, and not worrying about anything in particular. My mom would wake me up in the morning for breakfast, and I would go to the kitchen and see a stack of pancakes waiting for me. She'd ask me, "Did you sleep good, hun?" I would nod and say, "uh-huh."

I'd eat my pancakes and put my plate in the sink. "Thanks, mama," I'd say. "You're welcome, sweetie." She would always smile at me.

Then I would walk to school, because I lived across the street. What she didn't know was that before I left, I had forgotten to put pants on. I got half way to school and thought, "Why am I feeling a breeze on my legs?" I look down and saw my Ninja Turtle underwear.

I turn around, bolt back to the house, and blast through the door. Luckily she wasn't in the living room. I poked my head around the corner to see if she was still in the kitchen. She wasn't. So I darted through the kitchen to my bedroom to get my pants. That's when I heard my mom say, "What did you forget?"

"I forgot my homework," I lied.

"Okay, hun, have a good day."

After that, I never forgot to put pants on again, that's for sure. She never knew what happened until I told her about it years later.

When I finished the story, she start laughing hysterically. "You didn't."

I smiled and said, "Yup, I forgot my pants and walked halfway to school without 'em."
