Heart, broken ceases to beat
Pleasures, long forgotten
Tears soaked up by pillows
In the secrecy of night
Words cut long after
They leave the tongue
Slicing heart and soul
Smiles long gone
Never to return
Joy is taken
Into dark shadows
Voice never
Raised in joy
Lips never again
Graced by a true smile
A soul alone
Soul tied
Never to soar.
