In the grey-white morning
clouds ripple
across the predawn sky.
Sunrise,
an alarm clock
for the homeless
and forsaken,
casts it cloak of shadows
across
the time obsessed towers
of glittering illusions.
Las Vegas awakens
opening,
for a lucky few,
a passage
leading to the end
of starvation and poverty.
