If I Owned a Toy store

If I owned a toy store, I'd call it
Fyntabulous Fyn's --
a magical place full of whimsy and whims.
It's location is hidden, right in plain sight--
you'll need the heart of a child to find it this night!
No GPS will show you the way
to my marvelous emporium at 6 Lavender Way.

Immense stuffed animals cavort and fly
but you'll only see them from side of eye!
Ostriches and hippopotamuses,
elephants and rinocerouses.
Long-necked giraffes spotted purple and pink,
unicorns, and bears that wink!

No straight aisles, you must wander and roam
all about my fabulous home.
Gargantuan tree in the midst of the store
holds a gaggle of snowgeese, three chipmonks and more.
Climb to the treehouse, pretend your're a queen,
curl up in a beanbag and let yourself dream.

Be a child again, Peter Pan is the king,
peruse all the books, let fantasy take wing.
reread Dr Suess' 'On Beyond Zebra,'
beneath a three-tiered lace candelabra.
All the books that imagination fuels
can be found here; it's in the rules.

Alphabet blocks carved in wood
built into castles, try it--you should!
Science kits, make a volcano explode,
drive excavators and design a new road.
Baby dolls that talk and sing--
here in my place you can find anything!

Spouting whales, velvet pouch full of jacks,
Steam locomotives that roll down the tracks.
We have one numbered the 1225--
the Polar Express is well and alive!
Puzzels galore, grape flavored silly string:
if you know where to look, we have everything.

Our cash registers work on wishes and deeds,
favors, desires--take what you need.
Playing is precious, we need more in life
which is why nothing here has a listed price.
All you can carry within your arms
is yours another child to charm.

But after Christmas, we'll disappear
and you won't find our store for another year.
So hurry! Come by, there's never a crowd,
feel free to play: it's encouraged, allowed!
We've plenty of staff, do it all ourselves,
we're really a fyntastic gathering of elves.
