What new years means to me

About a month after new years day doesn't even
seem like anything's changed.

I try to be my best but I still always end up a mess.

Can't get anywhere with this hatred inside,
burning me up like a fire in my mind.

It's not that I don't want to change, I'm just having
trouble extinguishing my internal flames.

The turn of a clock didn't mean a thing

I'm not just going to be magically inspired, can't
change events that already transpired.

All I can do now is try to be a better man, because
deep down I know that I can.

I got to forgive myself for the past,
Because I'm tired of always bringing myself down coming in last.

Instead of a goal I'll consider a challenge

by this time next year I'll be able to manage.
