Soulmates

Sweet, fragrant, and dark
chocolate's perfume ascends
from a Valentine-shaped box.

Violin music
carries the scent of roses--
love's scarlet flower--
across the light-years of space and time
to enliven the future
with romance.

Two lovers,
clumsy at their first meeting,
walk hand-in-hand
along a moonlit beach,
as waves wash across their feet.

One gives the other
a ring:
symbolizing eternal love.

Soulmates
their anticipation
of happiness rises.

No disaster
can separate them
for long,
they are destined to roam
the universe
as one inseparable entity.
