In the dawning, May's first morning rises to applaud the day.
Potted periwinkles, pansies, and petunias have a lovely say.
Blue birds, yellow finches, and chickadees
perch pleasantly in fully dressed trees.
Creating a shiny new green terrain
soon after a seasonal rain,
robins determine to find their meal on ground;
earth worms, long, squirmy, and slimy brown.
Dragonflies, butterflies, busy bumble bees
flit and flutter in the soft caressing breeze.
Beneath Sun's daily duty, while standing at full attention,
a field of day lilies blink and nod an honorable mention.
In the dawning, May's first morning rises to greet colorful blooms.
Among Spring's pallet of gifts; chicks, cubs, and opening cocoons.
