Learning to Live Again

My world came crashing down around me,
all my hopes and dreams gone forever.
I thought my life was over, there was no hope,
Until God’s love finally came along.

Deepest streams of melancholy tears
met face to face with winding rivers of grace.
Love was teaching me to face the fears unknown,
looking forward to what my mind couldn’t see.

No longer a prisoner to what others think,
I listen only to my heart and soul – to God.
I refuse to live in miserable past mistakes,
learning that forgiveness of self is the key.

Now I look to the future with confidence and hope,
while God gently guides me day by day.
Lessons are learned and my heart is changed.
I’m learning to live again.
