A new grandpa

So there was this older black couple walking up through the parking lot. The man was all bent over and could hardly walk, he reminded me very much of how grandpa used to walk. But walking he was (more like a jog), and he had the same grin that grandpa used to sport. He was (almost literally) dragging the lady along behind; she did not seem to be in quite as big of a hurry. In fact, if there ever was a 'rolling your eyes' look without actually rolling your eyes, she was wearing it.

I must have had a funny look on my face as well, because she looked at me and said "Mercy help us, it's his first grandson! They have all been girls up til now."

He grinned bigger then, pulled a little harder, and said "Come on grandma!" And off they went.

I about split my gut open.
