Have to give the students talk on teacher's day... could really use some reviews for this. |
Good morning and a very happy teacher's day to all the fantabulous teachers present here. You have become such a vital part of our lives that without you we would feel like we have lost our limbs. You have made these dull gray brick walls a place warmer than our very own homes. Today is the most awaited day of the year for us students because we finally get a chance to express our love and gratitude for you all. I admit that most of you would prefer to see this love and gratitude written in marks but I'd like you to know that just because we don't score too great at times, doesn't mean that we aren't beholden to you. It just means that we are normal teenagers and lazy procrastinators. So coming back... this is my eleventh year in this school and I have learnt much more than just mere subjects. Thanks to you amazing teachers, I have grown from a second grade toddler, who would show her pinky finger to use the restroom, to a decent 12th grader ready to face the harsh realities of the world. I speak not just for myself, but for every single student in this hall. You have mothered us from the very beginning. You taught us how to walk, how to pave our way into this world without tripping over every hurdle. You showed us how every individual is equal based on certain grounds, but unique based on others, and taught us how to respect everyone for who they are and spot the best in them. When we lost all hope and came crashing down, you held our hands, helped us up and taught us how to see the glimmer of silver lining in the worst of situations. The words 'You only lose when you stop trying' and 'what doesn't kill you make you stronger' wouldn't make sense to us if not for you. We were disfigured stones when we came in, and you sculpted us to perfection, smoothening our rough edges and sharpening ours skill, always bringing out the best of us. You crafted each and every one of us a beautiful pair of wings, whose design differed based on our capabilities, and when we tried to soar too high and lost control, you snapped our wings and brought us back to earth, hence teaching us humility and modesty. I can go on and on, for there is no end to how much you have given us, but alas, on teachers' strike day is not enough to hail you all. I'd just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for shaping me up and making me who I am today. Your teachings will be etched deep into our memories till the end of time and we will forever be thankful to you. We trust that your blessings will always be with us and hope to make you proud some. Today, if my words bought a smile upon your beautiful faces, then I'll feel accomplished for life. Just remember, for the world you might be just a teacher, but for your students, you are a hero! Thank you and have a wonderful day ahead. |
