A recluse who loves opera.
This is the story of Mortimer Marks
who was into opera in a big way.
He adored many of the arias,
but his favorite was, The Magic Flute.
A Mozart devotee, he listened often.
Mortimer had the charisma of James Dean.
Of course, Mortimer was a stay-at-home,
not one to stir in the world of people.
But this Mortimer Marks was magnetic;
he could well have been a Hollywood star.
Just give going out a try, people said,
as Marks was on his record-setting stay;
at home a bookworm, a couch potato,
a mad pajama-wearing denizen in.
Going out?  Could he fathom the idea?
That might take him away from Price is Right,
Judge Judy, or even the Brady Bunch
aired in the fervor of precious reruns.
Marsha in crisis—Mortimer was there.

(Oh Mort, Oh Mort, divest thee from the tube
  and feel the freedom so deserved for you.
  You may discover something you have known
  was there, but were afraid to recognize.
  It may, indeed, be your ultimate prize…)

A miracle occurred on Marks’ old street
in that he ventured out from home recluse.
He soon discovered things were not so bad;
in fact he tugged on women now and then.
He started talking opera and lo!
The bow of Cupid found its mark, and so
he got married listening to Mozart.
