Setting: Cultural Setting

(1) What do your societies believe?

They realize that they are losing their ability to control magic. Their fear is that there will remain a few who will be able weild strong power in one of the magics that will try to dominate all others. They will attempt to control and limit that from happening. This will create a society that will require overseers and a dedicated force to stop magic from being used or at the very least monitor those who use it.

(2) In what practices do they engage?

The Bandelior. A device that all children who come of age (preteen-teen?) are tested for magical powers. The device has a center Orb flanked by six gems, three to a side. From left to right the Gems are as follows;

Ruby - Fire Magic
Onyx - Earth Magic
White Diamond - Life Magic
The Orb (Spirit Magic)
Black Diamond - Death Magic
Topaz - Air Magic
Sapphire - Water Magic

This will determine the status and what is to be done to the Teen.

(3) What laws or rules of society are in place?

Feudal system for several kingdoms. Similar 1800’s style navy doctrines.

(4) Who/what enforces the laws and rules and how successful are they?

There are several different forms of enforcers/rulers.

1. Fuedal system, Barons Dukes Etc.
2. Priests who run the religeous aspect and enforce doctrines
3. Council of Mages who control and enforce magic issues etc.
4. Merchant Council (Traders Houses/Merchants Guild who enforce Commerce.

(5) What technologies are in use?

Medieval land armies and forces, fantasy realm weaponry etc.
Revolutionary Navies / Sailing ships etc.
