A walk in The Valley of Ten Peaks, Banff, Rockies, Alberta, Canada
Lake Moraine
_______________________________________

I walk in the Valley of Ten Peaks
In an incredible parallel universe
Into a separate fuzzy reality
Where spirits and mountains blur
In the magnificence of manifestation
Under blue skies and cirrus clouds
Painted with the light stroke
Of a paintbrush on blue canvas
The fragrance of the forest frames my flight

In that divine beauty I merge
Merge with the radiant glow
Merge gently with your eternal flow
You are not a mere picture frame
A stationary snapshot in time
You are the grand concert
The succession of movements
And rhythm of life
A symphony and melody of the eternal flow

I sit on a lookout on the Rockpile Trail
Gazing at the expanding vista
Slowly panning over the shades of azure blue
On the turquoise waters of Lake Moraine
Washed and clothed with the
Fine muslin of glacial rock flour
That colors the Lake with deft brush strokes
Of refracted azure, stunning, radiant, brilliant
Ever changing shades of turquoise, green and blue

Above the valley, ten majestic peaks
Reveal their power and invincibility
I am transformed, transfixed, transmogrified
Into the herd of wild elk that runs along
The forests of trembling aspen pine and spruce
That arch into the Lake where green dances
With blue and embraces green again
With streaks of white lightning
Pulsating from the melting snow

A gentle breeze tousles my hair, the fir shimmers
A Grey-Jay flashes its breeding plumage as it dives
A branch cracks
A single leaf floats away
Nothing is still
Elements move elements flow
White glaciers melt into the azure blue
A quiet calm descends on the waters below
The mountains hum and the ice caps glow

In the far distance I see
From the pinnacle of the ninth majestic peak
An avalanche of milky white snow
Descending over the rock face in slow-mo.
Dancing on the slopes below
Falling with immense majesty
Into the outstretched arms of the divine Lake
Elements move elements flow
The mountains hum and the ice caps glow

Is this my world or is it not
Am I here or am I not
Am I me or am I not
Do I exist or do I not
Does it matter or does it not
I am lost but I emerge
Bathed in your beauty and your flow
As you descend into the radiant blue below
Everything moves, everything flows

And suddenly
Bathed in your radiance
Bathed in your Light I know
In all your power and wonder I know
Realization dawns
Free falling with the white avalanche
Into the Valley of Ten Peaks
Cleansed by the waters of the Lake
Immersed in gratitude I know, I know
