The Lighthouse


Woke up this morning
Not ready for the day
A sadness had crept in
It was so cold and grey

People that were lost
Things that slipped away
Memories from some past
All the things I need to say

That shade of grey
Those rain drops

Things that lit the way

A walk in the snow
On a starless night
Floating softly down
Small sparkles of light

Friends who are gone
Time that slips away
Things that will never be
The emptiness of my day

That shade of grey
