Their relationship moves on.
Words 880

After the evening at Panchos, when Marcus revealed he’d got a record, I was shocked, I must admit. He didn’t strike me as being a drug dealer and anyhow, would he still be studying medicine? The university is really strict on that sort of thing.
They were my first thoughts, but the look of shame on his face melted my heart, and when he leaned over and kissed me, well, there was no going back.

Our first date could easily have been our last. I gambled everything that evening at Panchos by telling her about my stint in prison. Oh, Christ, it could have back-fired big time, but she gave me the benefit of the doubt, a chance to explain properly. Now, six months later, my family love her nearly as much as I do. So, tonight we’re going on our six-month anniversary date. Where to? Yes, you guessed it. Panchos.
Oh, my god, here she comes. Even after all this time, I can’t believe she agreed to go out with me.
I stand up to greet her, giving her a kiss on those luscious lips.
“Hi baby, you look amazing. How was the exam?” I take her coat and hang it on the back of my chair. “You must be exhausted.”
“It was long, hard and tiring,” she says, giving me a hug.
I slip my hands around her slim waist, returning her embrace, my hands wander down onto her firm bottom, giving a playful squeeze.
“I’ve already ordered for you, the same meal you had the first time we came here. I know you’ll be starving.” I smile at her when she gives me a look that says I know her too well. “Happy anniversary, Baby.” I raise my beer glass to her, and she takes a sip of her Margarita. Milly gives a smile of satisfaction, the corners of her eyes crinkle as she relaxes after a stressful day.

Walking home he holds my hand, it’s almost lost in his. I look up at him as we pause under the street lamp outside his apartment. He’s so handsome. I love his dark curls, when I run my fingers through his hair I call him my Gypsy boy, that always brings a smile to his face.
He’s asked me in for a nightcap but I know he’ll probably want me to stay the night. It’s not like I haven’t stayed before, but all these exams are really taking it out of me. I need to have an early night. I say, “Look, I’ll stay for one drink, but then I’ll go home.” I stand on tiptoe and kiss him deeply. The feel of his body pressed to mine makes me nearly lose my resolve.
“Stay the night,” he whispers, his voice husky in my ear.
“Next weekend, I will, I promise.” I grab his hand again, “Come on, cheer up, I’ll stay for a coffee then I’ve got to go home.”
He relents, although I know he’ll try to persuade me to stay again.

It’s been a wonderful evening, but I know Milly’s tired. I’d planned on her staying the night, clean sheets, the lot. I’ll just work my charm. She surely won’t be able to resist.
“Let me take your empty cup, I say placing it on the coffee table. “Put your feet up on my knees, I’ll give you a foot rub, then I’ll drive you home,” I whisper, lifting her legs. She settles back into the pile of sofa cushions and gives a deep sigh. Gently, I massage her toes. “You’ve such tiny feet Milly,” Kissing her feet, I take her big toe into my mouth, sucking softly. She sighs again. Her eyes are closed as she relaxes into the massage. My hand leaves her lower limbs, creeping higher under the short red dress.

“That’s far enough Marcus, I say, sitting up quickly. I told you I wasn’t staying and you know what will happen if you don’t stop.” I’m forced to smile though, his face shows disappointment and I kiss him softly to lessen the blow.
He smiles and holds my face gently in his big hands. “I love you so much Milly, I can hardly keep my hands off you.” He says, his voice full of emotion. Are those tears in his eyes?
“Time to go home, Gypsy boy,” I whisper.
“You do love me, don’t you Milly?” He asks, “You’ve never spoken the words. You believe me when I say they framed me?”
I don’t want to hurt his feelings, but to be honest I’m not absolutely convinced of his innocence. He’s not a bad person, I know that, but where there’s smoke there’s fire. I need to know him a lot longer before I commit.
“It’s not that, silly. We’re so busy, both of us, studying. It’s okay for you, rich boy,” I tease, “you’ve got a wealthy daddy, I have to work and study.“
“Hey, my father only gives me a small allowance.” He sounds a little defensive. “I know it’s better than nothing though,” he admits.
I reach down to find my shoes, when he pulls me into his arms. His lips on my neck make me tingle, I shiver and turn my face to his. We look in to each other’s eyes. I can see the love in his, or is it simply lust?
