Sunset Memories

The glow of sunset
pulls me back to my childhood
in northern Oklahoma
where fireflies waltzed
on summer evenings.

I remember,
setting in a porch swing
watching the limbs
of cottonwood and willow trees sway
in the warm breeze,
while I sipped lemonade.

As the dust if nostalgia
blows across my mind,
I remember
the way beams
from the summer moon rise
seemed to ignite the fireflies dance.
