My Prayer

Dear God, I pray that you will help me repair the wreckage my careless words have made in my life and the lives of the people I care about. Give me the courage and opportunity to make amends to regain their trust. Help me to be truly sorry, not because I fear reprisal, but because I truly hurt them. I want to be a better person, a caring person. Please rid me of my selfishness and constant need for human acceptance and approval. I pray that I will allow the Holy Spirit to work in my life to guide me in conversations where I have the opportunity to speak as Jesus would, and to discern where no words are necessary. Please keep my lips from gossip and unkind words. Please change my heart as my words are a true reflection of my heart. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
