A poem about a truly broken man who confides his sorrow and despair to a pile of stones.

THE STONES

Alone I sit amongst the stones
For in this moment I'm alone
Reflecting on a life betrayed
She left me hear, I wish she stayed

In this night of my lament
On tortured winds my words are sent
Echoing thoughts of my decay
As all i loved fades away.

Painted lies a broken home
My bed a prison of jagged stone
Reflecting edges in mirrored pain
In every day my loss her gain.

I find no solace, no reprieve
Within these days I'm left to grieve.
A heart for now has turned to stone
But In this desolation i am not alone

The stones and I we've shared this night
In broken verse they herd my plight.
Day approaches in dawns divorce
On uncharted maps I plot my course

Departing now I leave this place
Refuge seeked but lost in faith
As morning breaks, I lust for home
On this muddied path i walk alone

Leaving now, I know not what waits
As pass through the cemetery gates.
