I rarely win a contest,
Perhaps I should just rest.
When I win I scream and laugh,
You’d think I’m on the contest staff.
I assure you that I’m not,
When I write a poem I sit in my spot.
No one else is allowed to sit there,
I don’t care if they think it’s not fair.
I know your reading this and rolling your eyes,
How do I know, because I have many spies?
They tell me my work is just a joke,
They think it is like a pig in a poke.
I try and try but I just don’t win,
Maybe I’ll get drunk with a bottle of gin.
Perhaps everyone will see I’m just a fool,
But I never broke the golden rule.
