They are coming.

The monsters awaken, they creep and they crawl,
Coming for children, for one and for all,
Parents tell you, there's nothing to fear,
Yet when the light goes out, the monsters are here.

They will wait until in bed is where you lay,
Silently behind you, they'll steal the light away,
How they relish in your torture and pain,
The lights go out, the nightmare starts again.

You must not shout,
You must not run or scream,
Else the monster which waits under your bed,
Will frighten you to death, just as it had said.

But when, those first signs of light,
Are seen by the horrific creatures of the night,
They will go back to their dismal world,
While you hide under your cover, afraid,
You are safe for one more day,
Whilst another child is mislaid.
