FIVE A.M. IN OKLAHOMA

The ferocious wind brings in rain.
Rain pounding fiercely
to the ground,
as clouds bump together
in the dark sky above,
demanding room.

Lightning lights up the dark
to show them there’s more
space to the east.
Eventually, they move on.

Once more our land
receives the sweet blessing,

of rain.
