The "I don't know" ghost

Blame it on someone else

My name is I Don't Know. I am the ghost that is constantly getting blamed for things I did not do. I am here to tell you that I am sick to death of being blamed! I get blamed for everything. Tommy, the baby in the house I live in stole cookies out of the cookie jar the other day. Since it was the last cookie, his mommy knew that it was missing. She asked Tommy who took the cookie. Do you think he confessed? Of course not! He said "I Don't Know."

I get blamed for everything and I'm sick to death of it. Why, I get so depressed over it that I become suicidal! My wife isn't a bit of help. She says "I don't know what you are going to do with yourself. I'd tell you to just go ahead and kill yourself but you're already dead! I guess you're just going to have to either stand up for yourself and quit taking the blame, or grow a thicker spirit. You can't go on the way you are and you know Everyone is going to keep blaming you. I have even blamed you when I wanted to shirk my responsibility!"

"I understand shirking responsibility," I muttered. "Everyone uses me for a scapegoat. Just the other day Everyone blamed me because the breaker was overloaded in the mansion and the whole place went dark. When it did Someone tried to reset it and stubbed their toe walking to it. Everyone was saying "I don't know" when asked who had plugged in the A/C and the microwave at the same time. Then when Someone when stubbed their toe on the leg of the chair they started cursing Everyone and Anyone. Do you think Anyone took responsibility for plugging in the microwave and the A/C at the same time? No! Everyone started pointing the finger at Anyone and Someone said "I don't know" who did it!

I'm getting fed up with Everyone blaming me for what Anyone could have done and No one takes responsibility for. I'm just fed up with it. I feel so guilty all the time and I know I didn't do anything wrong. It's getting to the point that I'm beginning to believe I am guilty when I know I'm not. It's making me crazy. I wish Someone would just take responsibility and say they did it once in a while!"

"We'll you know that No one is going to do that anytime now."

I wish they'd hurry up," I said.
