The Writer's Cramp: Due January 27, 2022
Today's prompt for the Poets:
Write a poem in: choose:
2002 letters
or
20 words.
For short stories: Why - do you think - during all these years, the judging time is set at Noon WDC time? And what might we change to make the Writer's Cramp better?
Maximum for short stories: 1000 words.
NO GENRE REQUIRED TODAY.
So here is a taste of my process....
My mind is scattered
scattered
scattered
scattered
Trying to focus
focus
focus
FOCUS
Trying to FOCUS is like looking through fog
Murky and dim, hazy and unclear.
I stare,
Stare
STARE
trying to find the thread that was my last thought
last thought?
what was my LAST Thought?
Trying to bind me to my plans
Plans
What were my plans?
Move me forward instead of stuck in this rut
A rut
A rut
Spinning my wheels.
Spinning
my
wheels
Wheeeeeels.
My mind is scattered
mind scattered
just scattered
Trying to focus
what focus....
it's like battling a heavy fog.
Moving forward is like spinning my wheels
I am held, suspended.

Hey, this one is 20 words!
My mind is scattered
Trying to focus is like battling a heavy fog.
Moving forward is like spinning my wheels.
But it is weak....
But.... This one is also 20 words and I like it much better. Oh, thank God. Thank you!
My mind is scattered
Moving forward, battling a heavy fog.
Spinning my wheels
I am held,
Suspended.
