I chose this informative Nonfiction because February means many of us have Groundhogs on the mind (smile). I learned quite a lot. Groundhogs hibernate more deeply even than Bears or Badgers (who knew?) even though Bears are the "poster child" of Hibernation. (Wish I could sleep as deeply as Groundhogs!) Groundhogs are actually Woodchucks, they're blind at birth and till a month after, and even though female Groundhogs are capable of motherhood at one year, frequently they postpone for another two years! Oh, Groundhogs in the wild aren't popping out of their deep burrows early in February! Generally (since they don't like Cold weather), they don't appear till March; later in the far North. Fascinating!
