One's True Friends

It's impossible to surmise
Our souls altered every day we rise
From every action we take from others who advise
To get us to understand things in life we need to realize
Such as the difference between the truth and the lies

It's wise to pick those people who are a prize
The ones who will be there if we are angry, sad, or simply need another to hear our cries
When we really need to have someone with whom we can empathize
At the weakest points within our lives

Not listen to deceivers in disguise
Giving us hope about a false future we all fantasize
Deceivers act like allies
Liars who put on a fake guise
Pretending to want to hear our replies
Fear not, even the darkest souls can change and surprise

Since the good within us all never truly dies
The power within can always rise
No matter what the darkness implies
Within us all the ability to do good coincides
For when the evil is gone, good will ARISE!
