We are all not really who we seem
We are what we think and we think what we dream.
We hide behind the masks we wear
Pretending the bad things aren't there.
I live in denial; I'm guilty too
I blot out the bad things that people do.
It's easier to live with the mask you're behind,
Lets you ignore the things that you don't want to find.
People become accustomed to your mask,
Take it for granted and forget the task
Of getting to know you for who you are,
Not who you appear to be from afar.
Perhaps I'll remove my mask one day
Wheather it be soon, or a long time away.
What will I think of the world I see?
And what will that world think of me?
