A short story
Mum and Junior were at it again. This time, it is all about spelling.

"You are wrong, Mum, the correct spelling is: c-o-n-t-e-n-t-m-e-n-t."

"I think you are wrong, Junior. Let us ask your sister. She is the best speller in the family."

"You go ahead, Mum, but I am sure your spelling is wrong."

"Hold on, let me call her. Miriam, my dear, how would you spell 'c-o-n-t-t-e-n-t-m-e-n-t'?"

"I did not get how spelled it, Mum. Please repeat it for me?"

"Listen, Miriam, here is the way I would spell it: c-o-n-t-t-e-n-t-m-e-n-t."

"Mum is spelling it wrong, does she not, Miriam?"

"I think, Mum, Junior, I should go and look at the dictionary; then I will let both of you know the right spelling."

"Oh, come on, Miriam, you know Mum is wrong."

"Just you wait on, Junior. I have it here now."

"Well, what is it, then. Go ahead and spell it to Mum."

"For goodness' sake, where is she, Mum?"

"I guess, Junior, she wants you to know your spelling is wrong."

"What a sister; I think she knows I am smarter than you, Mum. Otherwise, she would have spelled the word to you, the way I do."

"Let me go and look at it myself, Junior."

"Go ahead, Mum, prove it to me."

"Well, Mum, you are wrong and I am right, yes?"

"For heaven's sake, where are you, Mum?"

"Miriam, your brother thinks he is smarter than his mother."

"Come on, Mum, admit you are wrong before Miriam tells us the right spelling."

"Miriam, dear sister, what is the right spelling?"

"Miriam, dear daughter, have you got the wright spelling?"

"Gosh, are you there, dear sister? Have you got the right spelling?"
