Peace & Rest from bad days |
After a long journey in the wilderness, I saw a beautiful tree in the path. A sense of infinite peace brooded over the distance. The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Golden fingers of sunlight lit up the path with love and trust, leading to the tree, which made its purpose fascinating. It stood about 40 feet tall, with low-spreading shrubs and long trailing branches. Its evergreen needle-like leaves swirled with the breeze, bending but never breaking. In such a way, it seemed to be telling a secret sweeter than the sea or sky can whisper; to come to it. Respecting the command with one foot in front of the other, I heard its words but could not interpret its language. Stunned at its serenity and voice, yet terror-stricken with the nearing approach However, the closer drew, the calmer the wind, and one's mind. Lastly, slumping where the acorns sprouted, they both ceased. Enraptured to a state not sleep, but resting, not dead, yet euthanized consciousness, letting go while holding on, coming and going. Euphorically at peace. with no restrictions to time or terra firma. Just a satisfying sense of completeness and delight. |
