A poem about bad signs

This woman who weeps in her house,
goes from room to room,
knocking things on the floor,
then collapses in a heap.

She is distressed,
and punches the walls,
tears are streaming down her face,
she stumbles to the next room.

She is crying for her loss,
he has just left her,
blood stains the carpet,
she drips more as she goes.

She looks at a picture,
throws it on the floor,
broken glass joins the stains,
she throws all the pictures down.

She gulps, her back against a wall,
slides down and sits there,
runs nails across her scalp,
then cries into her hands.

The blood is still pouring from her,
screams in pain as she sits there,
and vomits on the floor,
Her face is pale.

Her hands on her stomach,
The cramping now setting in.

The bleeding stops.

This was their last chance.

She has miscarried.
