The Monster

The yelling, the soft-spoken snide
The hitting, or unwanted caress
Not knowing where or when
Fear is a monstrous thing

Age doesn't matter
Sex is meaningless
One's identity is tattered
In the hands of another

Whether it is planned
or because of some illness
Diabolical regardless
Having no way to stop it

Only by speaking out
a small whisper for help
Knowledge is power
For the monster to be contained
