A New Chapter

Never really knowing who you are

living in hopeless despair

Walking around in another’s body

breathing another’s air

So long I searched in all the

wrong places

blinded by temptation, unable to

see through all the masked faces

Being ridiculed for wanting something

different

portraying to be someone else

just to please one’s interest

Numb as the years passed me by

controlled by hate and rage

I couldn’t move, finding myself stuck on the same page

I was so naïve to think outside approval

was needed

so naïve to think that to love myself

was a sign of being conceited

Finally, the pages are turning

in people’s judgement, I now find laughter

being true to who I really am

I get to write a new chapter
