You wobble and poke, scattering them everywhere.
Other males aren’t as determined to find their mates that certain one.
Suddenly you stop digging frantically.
Our eyes find one another, and you dive in again.
I swear I noticed a grin upon your beak!
You waddle towards me with something in your grasp.
Passing it from beak to beak the pebble of your choice.
I lay it upon the earth a heart-shaped pebble.
The one that won my heart!
I’m yours... A penguins love forever more.
