Thoughts on a Spring Day

I need a new lawnmower. It’s the stupidest reason too, I can’t start this one. Once it’s started by someone taller, with more muscles, it works perfectly! But I can’t start it myself. Yes, I have had it in the shop for repair. Apparently, they can’t repair it in a way that solves my issue.

I’m old, I’m shrinking, and I don’t have the muscles I used to have. If I were taller, like I actually used to be, I could start it. There’s something about the angle and the pull. I tried standing on the step, but it was too awkward. I also want to survive mowing the lawn with all my appendages still intact. If I were stronger, I could probably start it too, maybe it needs both. I am pretty strong for an old lady, but my lawn mower doesn’t care. Ha ha, it practically laughs, remember this when you over fill my collection bag!

I don’t want to spend the money for an electric start lawn mower! Do I look rich? I had hoped they could sell me an electric starter that could be put on this one, no such luck. It’s a tad old too. But when it is running, it’s perfect. Like me. I’m a tad old, but when I’m running, I’m perfect, just not as tall as I used to be, and slightly short on muscles, and, yes, a tad slower…

So, I guess there it is. I either shell out for a new mower, or hire someone else to mow my lawn. And, since I have plans to live to be a hundred, I think the new lawn mower is the cheaper choice. It just irks me to pieces! A perfectly good lawn mower and I just can’t start it.
