The Service had just ended and Abby had been in a bad mood before leaving home.

Who'd really care if I ate something at home before coming? she thought

Maybe Mrs. Liat, but she was a mean woman anyway. Always going on and on about how Mrs. Goldstein's daughter's jewelry or how Ben could stand to lose five pounds or more.

She fast walked through the temple's back hallway, opened a door, and froze. About a dozen 8 year olds were staring at her. The handle of the room on the opposite side of the room started turning and suddenly stopped.

"Don't tell them you saw me or else," she tried to keep her voice low, but the tone wasn't as threatening as it was in her head.

A boy in a red shirt smiled and turned towards the door, opening his mouth and taking a deep breath.

"I'm serious Yoseph, I'll tell your grandma that you were the one that put a bunch of salt in the pot of soup she made yesterday."

It worked, the kid froze and Abby ducked behind a shelf of boardgames. She peaked between the boxes as Rabbi Broomer entered the room and made the little kids line up. Two other adults brought in plates of sandwiches, chips, and juice. She almost hit one of the boxes.

It's not fair, why do they get to skip the boring parts? She nearly yelled.

Yoseph stopped in front of her hiding spot. He smirked and took a big bite of his sandwich. Abby growled and ran right at him, knocking the plate out of his hands. At least now she'd get to eat at home. Joseph would pay, she knew just the person to say something to on the way out.
