When We Reach Heaven

O' Lord, why must we suffer the loss of friends, lovers and family?
O' Lord, why must we lose anyone at all, the pain is hard to me.

There has to be an answer to the pain that's left inside
I guess we'll meet in heaven, the lost ones by our side.

O' Lord, mend my broken heart for a person has left the earth
O' Lord, I understand and follow well, I know what life is worth.

When my time comes closer, I'll take it in my stride
I know I will see heaven, no need to run and hide.

O' Lord, take my light and guide me through the rain
O' Lord, teach each one to love their best and know it's not in vain.

Your written word takes away the hurt as I sit and wonder why
That all life comes to a certain end then Lord you must comply.

O' Lord, take my friend to the sky and show him all your light
O' Lord, let him pass into the heavens and start his holy flight.
