Quest

The Naugahyde door was the ultimate in 70's kitsch. I knocked on it anyway. A small panel opened at eye level.

"What's the password?"

"Ken sent me."

The door opened to reveal a bearded guy somewhat broader than the doorway. The room was decorated in "Extreme Dingy" with peeling wallpaper, stained floor, and a rickety stair. An old TV and chair completed the furnishings.

"It's a hundred bucks to go up that stair, little man."

"Yeah," I said, pulling out a remote. I turned on the TV and switched it to the porn channel. He immediately forgot about me, and I headed up.

The second floor room continued the dingy theme. It contained a broken down bed with a broken down woman.

"Hey baby," she said. I just nodded and headed to the window. I was here for something else, plus she was someone I would pay NOT to have sex with.

I climbed onto the fire escape and attached my rope to the railing. With it, I was able to reach across to the next window and snag the bottle off the windowsill. I had just climbed back when the door burst open.

It was P3ndragon, and he was clearly angry I'd gotten here first. I jumped off the fire escape and shimmied down the rope as the shot from his blaster passed over my head. I fired a couple shots to keep his head down, then dashed down the alley and hit my retrieval button. A door opened and I went out into the main corridor.

I was breathing heavy, although my avatar of course was not. I checked off the pill bottle from "Leisure Suit Larry". Next was the bird from Colossal Cave. This Video Scavenger Hunt game was fun, but definitely a lot of work.
