Wilt

she begins to wilt.
pieces of her soul fall around her
like fallen petals
she can’t reach them
they won’t return to her

as their colors fade
she remembers
the feeling of joy
the dreaming and hope
the weightlessness of being complete

now she sways in the breeze
feeling lighter and lighter
until she too fades from view
