A poem that I was unable to release until recently. written in 2021

Do you know what it is to lose your home?
Well it is to lose yourself and simply roam
With no purpose or belonging
It is to be cold on a beautiful morning

It is to lose what you knew
To search and for what?
You do not know
There is weeping, there is grieving and all for what?
Is it for yourself? for others?
Only the one who lost knows

Many expend their hand to help
While others slam the door with hatred
Is it taboo to lose a home or a new normal?
Only a few can answer that

To be lost to be alone
It will always be a tragedy
To lose a home is to lose yourself.
