Describing story elements
Setting up the story:

1. The story takes place in modern times. A sleek space faring vessel is in route to Earth with five children and one of their parents serving as diplomats for first contact. As they wait for their arrival, the children share their stories of accidental first contact in various parts of the US or world (undecided)

2. The main characters...

Vada spends his days trying to learn from every class of his society to prove that one can be of any class. He spots an anomaly within the Canterbury Nebula and sets out to investigate in an effort to prove one of many classes can get the job done. This lead to the incident leaving him on Earth.


Diron spends his days watching over the children of diplomats from other worlds. This is due to his over abundance of personality and strong feelings of independence. While playing a game he had learned from human transmissions called hide and seek, he inadvertently ran into a malfunctioning escape pod. This pod then launched the moment he entered, landing him on Earth.

Princess Kyteen (Kitten) spends her time being nurtured and coddled by the palace staff while her parents take on the tasks of ruling their world. They had forgotten what it is like to be a princess and prince. Kyteen wishes for the 'freedom' and adventure of the commoners not realizing that freedom and adventure are relative terms. This leads her to be lured away from the safety of her chambers with a promise of adventure and becoming abducted. In Kyteen's attempt to escape, she activates the ship's hyper drive and ends up on Earth.

Era spends her life with a balance of learning and fun. She is shy to a fault but has a fascination with archaeology. She is delighted to be apart of a student archaeological dig. Only she discovers an artifact with strange lettering on it. Upon trifling with it, she activates a strange gateway that violently teleports her to Earth. Ironically, it is on a similar archaeological dig. Shortly after making contact with humans, she loses her memory and is now on the run not knowing who to turn to and who to trust.


Atrace (A-trace) spends her days trying to unlock the secrets of illness and medicine. Although she has a life balance of study and recreation, her mind is always on her obsession of curing all illness. This lead to her making the novice mistake of entering the wrong coordinates when heading to another planet for a diplomatic assignment. This resulted in her activating a previously unknown jump-gate, leading her to Earth.
